Hiccups. I get them bad and it hurts my diaphragm. So I remember seeing some "hiccup stick" crap for sale online. Like hell I'm looking that dumb. No sir, I'm using a pencil....and it worked! Drank water with a pencil in my mouth and it cured it immediately. I spilled some on my shirt, but I go home in an hour anyway and I work in a warehouse, so no one cares. Next I'll tackle ebola or something.

Once I had hiccups, I drank water but leaned forwards and then swallowed and it worked. I've used that ever since.

My best solution that works almost every time: Lean far forward like you're going to touch your toes, hold your breath, count to ten, and swallow water while holding said breath. I swear, it works.

Drinking from the far side of a glass always worked for me.

Next time I am at the bar I am going to grab a chopstick and see if it works with beer

It's more or less drinking with your head tilted really far forward - like almost upside down. I've heard the water massages the roof of your mouth, or something like that.

Well it's a lot more elegant than my solution of trapping more air and letting rip a giant burp that said I'm guessing my solution is more satisfying.
